Giving feedback
Propose terms or report mistakes — and what happens to your note afterwards.
The feedback form is how you report missing terms and mistakes. It is the intended way to contribute to the terminology without having access to the backend yourself.
What happens to a note
First, because it is the most common question: a note is not applied automatically. It is a message to the terminology team, not a change to the database.
- Your note reaches the team and does not appear in the database.
- The team reviews it and, where appropriate, turns it into a draft entry.
- A term only becomes publicly visible once it has been released.
The three kinds
| Kind | For |
|---|---|
| New term | A term is missing and should be added. |
| Correction | An existing entry is wrong or incomplete. |
| Other | Any other note, question or technical problem. |
If you arrive via suggest a correction from an entry page, the kind, the term and the entry concerned are already filled in.
What helps
Only the message is required. For a new term, a short definition and a source help us most — they make the proposal reviewable without researching it from scratch. Stating the language files the term correctly.
Email address
The address is optional and is used only for follow-up questions. It is never published or passed on. Without one we can still process your note, but we cannot ask you anything or report back to you.
