- US EN would normally refer to the German "Erdgeschoss" as the "first floor." However, the designation "ground floor" avoids confusion for non-native speakers. Hence, for all subsequent floors use the English equivalent of the German number plus "floor" e.g. 1.Stock/Etage = first/1st floor, then second/2nd, third/3rd, fourth/4th, fifth/5th, etc.
