- In analogy to the definition in the Bavarian Act on Higher Education Staff (BayHSchPG) of "hauptberuflich", where a person's job is considered his or her main occupation if he or she devotes at least 50 percent of his or her working time or official duties as compared to a fulltime position, "nebenberuflich" amounts to less than 50 percent.
